Also known as : [Haemostasis screen]

Blood
Test performed by: LabPLUS Coagulation

Test performed by the Coagulation laboratory: ( Ext 22069 ).
For results, use ward computer or phone LabLINK: 22000 or (09) 307-8995 or 0800 522 758 .

The laboratories will perform the following range of coagulation screening as appropriate:

Provision of relevant clinical information will aid test selection and result interpretation.

BASIC SCREEN

If results for the basic screen are outside the reference interval, follow up tests may be performed. These are routine follow up tests and include correction studies, tests to detect the presence of inhibitors and tests that may detect dysfunctional coagulation proteins, especially fibrinogen.

Studies are also available if a platelet function disorder is suspected. For platelet aggregation studies it is necessary to contact the Coagulation Laboratory (Haematology, LabPlus) to arrange a suitable time for the collection of samples.
