NOTE: Reticulocytosis can mask G6PD deficiency. If reticulocytosis is present and G6PD deficiency is suspected, suggest testing when reticulocyte count returns to normal. If there is chronic haemolytic anaemia with persistent reticulocytosis, please contact the laboratory for the diagnostic workup.
