Auckland City Hospital:
Contact Mycology laboratory ext 22710 to arrange for a skin scraping kit to be sent via the Lamson tube.
Greenlane Clinical Centre:
Phlebotomy staff will collect specimens on request between the hours 0800 - 1530, Monday to Friday.
Please note if the request is for the GROIN, GENITALS or BUTTOCKS our clinic
DOES NOT
perform the collection.
Sample must be collected by the clinician.
Contact Outpatient Blood Collection Rooms: ext 26199.
Turnaround Time:

Direct microscopy results available within 24 hours of reciept of sample.

Positive cultures are reported immediately as growth occurs.

Negative skin scraping culture results are not available for 3 weeks.

Negative nail clipping culture results are not available for 4 weeks.
