Coagulation Hold

"A Citrate tube was received with no tests requested. Specimen will be held for 24hrs, if testing is required please contact LabLink. Note the specimen will not be suitable for APTT if greater than 8 hours old. To STORE samples for 2 weeks at -20 O C, please contact the Coagulation laboratory ext.22068 / 22069"

If a HOLD sample fails pre-analytical criteria, it is unsuitable for testing and a comment is added:

" Sample unsuitable - A Citrate tube (blue top) has been received by the Laboratory with no tests requested for coagulation. This sample is unsuitable for processing. If coagulation testing is required, please send a repeat sample."
