- Tissue Typing (CPDA) tubes are available on request from out-patients laboratory.
- Specific volumes of blood to be collected on advice from NZBS-N, Tissue Typing Department.
- Full clinical particulars and patient's race must be indicated on the request form.
Approximately 8% of the NZ Caucasian population are HLA-B27 positive. The B27 antigen is not related to the normal population. The frequency of the antigen is dependent on the ethnic population.
- There are now 11 alleles of B27, B*2701-B*27011
- HLA-B27 Lymphocytotoxicity at NZBS-N - daily.
