Glucose - urine
Also known as : [Urine glucose]

Urine
Test performed by: LabPLUS Automation

Specimen Collection
5 mL Urine
Reference Intervals

Normal: No glucose detected

Uncertainty of Measurement: 5%

Turnaround Time: Within 3 hours
Diagnostic Use and Interpretation

Increased in any situation where blood glucose is increased, or in renal tubular disease where the renal reabsorption threshold is lowered (renal glycosuria).

Renal glycosuria is common in pregnancy.

Glycosuria can be a misleading indicator of plasma glucose levels.

Blood glucose is much more reliable than urine glucose testing for screening and monitoring diabetic patients.
