Platelet Aggregation Studies

Test performed by: LabPLUS Coagulation


Test performed by the Coagulation laboratory, need to be pre-arranged with the Technical Specialist ( Ext 22069 ).

Test available Monday through Friday from 09:00 am to 13:30 pm.

Specimen Collection

CYP2C19, CYP450 Genotype


Reference Intervals

Assessment of rate and degree of primary and secondary aggregation and shape change is compared to a normal control.



Turnaround Time: Within 1 day

Requires pre-approval by a Haematologist except for samples from the Haemophilia Centre.


Diagnostic Use and Interpretation

Important Note

Patients for platelet aggregation tests should avoid taking any prescription or over the counter medications known to affect platelet function for 10 days to 2 weeks prior to test.
