Short Description : Cytogenetics Information Page


The Cytogenetics section of the Diagnostic Genetics department, based in LabPlus, Auckland City Hospital, diagnoses a wide variety of chromosomal abnormalities, either by G-banded karyotype, microarray or fluorescent in situ hybridisation (FISH).  Please click on the links below for more information.

Diagnostic Genetics Sendaway Service

Transport all bloods between 8 degrees C to 24 degrees C within 24-48 hours. If necessary specimens can be refrigerated overnight for transport at the temperatures stated above the following day.

For testing of other sample types please contact the laboratory prior to sending.
