Diagnostic Use and Interpretation

Adrenal antibodies are seen in 50% of patients with idiopathic Addison's disease.  Antibodies develop at an early age in most cases, i.e. very rare in healthy people.  18% of patients with tuberculosis of adrenal gland have positive adrenal gland antibodies.
