Test performed by the Special Haematology laboratory: (Ext 22065 ).

For results, use ward computer or phone Lablink:  22000 or (09) 307-8995 or 0800 522 758 .

  • Prior arrangement is essential. Please contact the Haematology laboratory on Ext 22065.
  • Whenever possible, it is preferable to analyse specimens from all family members at the same time.

  • Specimen Collection

  • Blood collected into  EDTA is suitable.
  • PK Enzyme is stable for 6 days at 4 Degrees Celsius and 24 hours at room temperature.
  • Patient samples being sent from outside the Auckland area should be accompanied by a control sample.
  • Any specimens transported overnight should be transported on wet ice.
